Tombs of unknown soldiers,
names on unknown walls.
Rows of grave site, Purple Hearts,
Photographs in hallowed halls.
Soldiers, sailors, pilots,
Cooks, marines, physicians,
Varied were their roles
But they shared a common vision.
They fought to keep our country
The great Land of the Free
They were our sons and daughters
And they died for you and me.
Each hero was unique,
Each had his own story,
Each gave to us our change
To raise and waive Old Glory.
Is there something I can do, you ask?
Oh yes, and it's quite small,
Just don't forget our heroes
Who fought and gave their all.
