| PROJECT PROFILE: The purpose of this project is to introduce how students can find constant references to mythology in their lives by creating their own modern day advertisement utilizing mythological characters or tales. Students will write an advertisement for a new product based on a Greek myth or character. Each advertisement should include a slogan or be accompanied by a testimonial from one of the residents of Mount Olympus. LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. To increase the student awareness of the many words in our language today that are derived from Greek mythology. 2. To introduce students to the ways myths have influenced Western culture in the field of advertising. FLORIDA SUNSHINE STATE STANDARDS: Language Arts: L.A.A.1.3.1,1.3.3,2.3.3,2.3.5,2.3.6 LA.B.1.3.3 LA.D.1.3.2 CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT: * Students will have access to two computers in the classroom as well as the Language Arts computer lab * Students will work individually to create their project. |
