Faramir
This is my still generic Faramir costume I made for my boyfriend after he almost killed himself (twice, in one night) with the Ringwraith costume. The long sleeved undershirt is constructed out of a burlap-y material. Originally I had quilted sleeves on this, but they were terribly hot so I removed them (shame, they turned out better than I could have hoped). The vest is split up the front and back, and I put little leather fasteners on the cloak. All the blood, sweat, and tears went into the bracers for this costume, multi-layered leather with tooling and paint. Normally there is a quiver, bow, and sword that he wears (clicky here), but this pic was taken at a non-weapon friendly Ren Faire.
I think Jon looks like a big hunk o' Gondorian manflesh in this costume :)
I'm planning on making gilded leather armor with the Tree of Gondor in time for the ROTK premiere, but we'll see how that goes.... |
