there's a new season coming

see the leaves change colors

hear the birds and bees buzzing

see the drug dealers in the park

making friends and shaking hands

this is my city by the lake

this is my homeland

and it will change in an instant

apartments and condos

full of people richer than me

in business suits

stepping over me

walking down the street

feel the grass on my feet

see children playing outside my church

chasing cats and chasing birds

they don't have a care

in the world

and they will all change in an instant
