As I ponder what to write, many subjects enter my mind. I could write about several things because I believe strongly in many of the laws of life. But one subject particularly sticks out in my mind. May 31st, 2003, I lost my brother in a car accident. My brother means the world to me and I miss him very much. This experience has had a major impact on my life, and has affected who I am today. The day after the accident my father told me something I will never forget. He said, This will be the hardest thing you will ever have to go through, if you get through this you can get through anything. I always keep those words in the back of my mind. I genuinely believe what he told me is true. Although I will never get over the death of my brother, dealing with things in the future will be easier. Everyone tells me that they admire my strength, but I used to deny this. I thought to myself, how could I have strength when I feel so terrible. But I finally realized that if I did not have strength, I would not have been able to get through this tragedy. I know in my lifetime I will endure many hardships. They will not be easy, but I know I will be able to get through them. I believe that if God brings you to it, God will bring you through it. Whenever I feel weak, I know I can depend on God. If you look at people who have dealt with tragedies you will find one common quality, which would be their strength. The Bible says, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit. Youll never know that God is all you need until God is all you have. Some days I do not want to get out of bed, but God gives me the strength to go on with my life. He helps me overcome what I do not think I can face. I do believe that everything happens for a reason. God will make good out of even the worst trials. I have learned to make the most out of what he has given me. If I had never experienced this tragedy, I would not be able to help others, or have the strength and faith that I have today. Now whenever I am having trouble with something and need help, I have a guardian angel with me wherever I go. He gives me a great deal of strength, and I know he will never leave my side. It is a great feeling to know someone is watching over me. Without the strength that God has provided for me, I would not be who I am today. |
