This is the "elephant rock"; it is the symbol of Catania. It is in the very center of town. |

This is called the cyclops. It is a rock off the coast of Ariceale I think. It is supposed to be a "lookout" spot for when Siciy was invaded by everyone around--Sicily's location made it very important-it was conquered by the Normans, Arabs, Greeks, and Romans. |
