| Date: Fri, 14 Sep 2007 Greetings. A lot has been happening during the past year and I would like to share some of this with you. Let me share with you some of the accomplishents we have had and some of the goals we hope to accomplish in the coming year. One thing I want to mention is that I am hoping that this email continues to everyone as an internet newsletter. There are many members that don't use email and are not going to get this. If you know someone like that, Please print this out and ahare it with them. I will have to start doing snail mail to them like in the past. But since we don't have a means of income for ny mufon, I am trying to keeps costs down as much as possible. I believe everybody is aware of the changes in the MUFON Administrattion. John Scuessler had been a great Director for MUFON and we did a lot with him at the helm. But, now we have James Carrion directing things and we are moving in a very positive way. In the past Dan Wright was the Director of Investigations and he has been gone now for a while and the new man in that position is Chuck Reever. I got to meet James and Chuck at the MUFON Symposium last month and I feel pretty comfortable with them as our new leaders. Check has spent a considerable amount of time over the past year rewriting the latest MUFON Field Investigators Manual and when it comes out, I encourage every one to buy it. It will cover everything the old one does and much much more. More and more States are finally conducting Field Investigator Training Classes and NYS will not be left behind. We start our first one in October. All members are invited to attend. I am attaching a few memos to this email. Please see them. One in particular is a list of State Section Directors and their covered areas. The other is a copy of the Annual Report submitted to MUFON at the 2007 MUFON Symposium. MUFON is now working with an organization called OPUS. This is the organization for Paranormal Understanding and Support. This working agreement is to help to assist people looking for help with regard to an abduction experience. They are also seekng volunteers who are qualified to work with these people. If you or someone you know is qualified, MUFON/OPUS could use the help. We have also appointed a Chief of Investigators for New York State MUFON. Sam Falvo, our Chief will be handling most if not all of the investigation assignments for us. He will be sending reports out to the SSDs or Field Investigators in area where sightings have ocurred. With his help, I hope we can get caught up on our backlog of reports and help investigators with any questions they might have. Sam will also assist in any needs or concerns regarding the MUFON CMS program. And to kleep him even busier, Sam is our State photo analyst. That doesn't mean we son't be utilizing the talents of Macabbee or Sanio. We will use any one of more than one to help us complete an investigation. Few of the State Section Directors are have more than one county to cover. I am looking for Section directors that may want to cover more counties if they think they can handle it. REMEMBER, a section director has FIs to assist them. They don't have to do all of the investigations theselves. Also, if a member is in a area that has no SSD and would like to be considered for that position, please contact me. Even if you are not in the area that is not covered and you can travel to that section to investigate, contact me and lets talk about it. Besides the FI Training class in the Spring, I am planning on a SSD meeting and a State-wide members meeting. Please look for future notices. Next year's MUFON Symposium will be in California. Consider attending. In 2009 the conference will be in Illinois. It is a rememberable experience if you have never attended one. We may hold it again in NYS in 2010. We are up against Virginia and are now looking into the feasibility of hosting it again. I am always looking for comments and feedback. Any ideas are welcome. One of the most important features I want in this organization is open communication. Thank you all for being members of MUFON and all that you do.
