Spring is the season for changes!
Amazingly enough, spring is here!  I know it's near when I start receiving catalogs from the annual growers, promoting all the new flowers for the upcoming season.  By the way, the new "hot" colors this year are all shades of pink and peach--especially pastel tones--mixed with lots of black, chartreuse and variegated foliages.  Oddball flowers such as black rudbeckias and green zinnias are continuing to gain in popularity.  That's a big change from the vivid primary colors that have been so popular these last few years.
There have been some changes in my business as well.  I am working with Four Seasons Lawn Center , Kenneth Heppner and Cottage Gardener, three established landscape companies in the Oak Park/River Forest area.  All are registered, bonded and insured.  I will be doing landscape design and  consultation work for them on a freelance basis and they will be installing all my large-scale designs that I can no longer do myself.  Both companies offer a wide variety of services.  All your landscape needs, from  design work to patio installations can now be accomplished .
I will continue to do small scale installations of annuals, perennials and fall bulbs.  So if I currently do your annual installations and maintain your garden, I will continue doing so!  As a matter of fact, maintenance is the area I would like to expand into and am seeking one or two current clients who would let me use their yards as "test gardens" for the 100% organic lawn and garden maintenance program.  If you would be interested in this new service, please contact me so I can go over the pros and cons with you.  I am very excited about the new organic products being made available to my industry and am committed to keeping our yards as healthy as possible.
