To Summarise the Macrocosm

From a genius, canvas painted
Came full-grown, its viewers tainted
With new values and compassions,
Notwithstanding their old fashions.
To the work a bard-man journeyed
Wanting that for which he'd tourneyed,
Of this artist so that he might
Win his king and give his mind height.
In a hall he saw the crafting
Teaching those who learnt its grafting;
So he sorbed the painting's awesome
Power; 't gave his thinking blossom.
By two quarters thus affected,
He, his mission, soon neglected,
Tilling wishings of his leaders
For this gift, from these, his feeders.
Full of brightness from this section,
He returned home with discretion
To allude to his new sproutings
Better than the others' outings.
Nobles questioned him in detail,
Any wisdom fit for retail
Wanted in return for giving
Him the privilege of the sieving.
This he could not come to render,
So they made his freedom tender,
And he was condemned to wasting
Whilst they sent another tasting.
