Okay so it is now technically September First (12:21 am). Yay: since i'm exhausted here is a brief synopsis of my life these past few days/weeks - I promise, one day I will be more emotional or something about stuff that really matters (not the Sims :) ). Hmm went with Erica, Deborah, Colleen and company to see Woody Allen's movie "The Curse of the Jade Scorpion." It was cute, and while his writing style has lost it's charm over the years, it was still a cute movie-- I loved the jazz music! We then ate at Cold Stone-- not as bad as the first time I ate there - but still crappy ice cream! I was bummed about Colleen and other private school kids leaving-- but then again heartily enjoying the fact that we could all stay out on a Monday with no school the following day unlike our siblings. Hmmm... Worked at dad's office. Made bread. Started the sourdough starter for sourdough bread. Bread making is addictive-- though I'm glad I'm trying new things!! I even learned to surf in San Digeo over the weekend-- that was the only uplifting part of that family reunion vacation-- the surfing-- other than that 13 yr olds tried to pick me up, I ate disgusting and over priced food, and i had to hang out with my relatives... I'm trying to do more of what I want and less of what others want. I even made a list. So far it has been working pretty well. I mean, I'm making the most of my time still in Pleasanton- If only I could get out of bed earlier!!!
Okay so I think it was Wednesday, yes Wednesday that I went over to Erica's. My mom doesn't know Megan Keegan so when she said, "Some Girl named Megan is on the phone," I too forget who Megan is (sorry!!) so yeah I felt dumb. Anyways- I was invited over to Erica's to go for a hike. Becky was there too. I had brought over some cinnamon rolls for after the hike, so I set them down and got to see Erica's latest project: collages for her dorm room! Yay!! After a complicated car arrangement so we wouldn't have to go back in the dark- we were on our way. I'd love to camp out back in those hills they seem so remote, almost spooky, but then again, not.. AND they have a great climate! There was an old bridge -broken- just beyond the pond that looked fascinating-- I should love to explore! I used to make maps of this creek and surrounding forest near Elly's house in Fremont. It was really cool- two dead palm tree bent toward each other at the top- dangling white coconuts and brown leaves from where they met, creating a gateway arch with some kind of deadly sign in the middle-- We named the little gorge behind it "Witch Way" because of the cross, the fork in the "path", the fact that it reminded us of witchcraft, and, most importantly, because the area was covered in nothing but poison oak. Sunol would be an interesting place to make artistic maps of. "but I digress" as Jay would say. We came back-- Tuli hopped into the trunk of Megan's car and we drove back for hot cinnamon rolls and painting. I tried to imitate Raoul Dufy-- but I screwed up the sun by outlining it in black! I then went home and called Adam.
Thursday, I accidentally left work an hour early mistaking 12:30 on my analog watch for 1:30. I didn't notice my mistake until I reached home! On the way through niles I noticed a little tire swing accross the arroyo-- I remember one of my teachers telling me about a swing across the river... I went to an interview at McWhorters at 2:30 all in all it went very well. Can't remember what I did that night.... I know I got into a long conversation with Lauren- lots of fun!! But she's gone this weekend!! :( Then dinner... then helped Jasleen's Mom, Madu plan for Jasleen's surprise party -you didn't expect that did you Jasleen?- then I tried to play the Sims but got into a conversation with Adam which somehow evolved into some stupid fight or quarrel over girly pictures, being possesive (him over me), miscommunication ("communication break down, it's always the same"), yeah so you don't want the sordid details so yeah no more info-- I felt awful afterwards... just depressed again...
Friday, my today- the 31st of August. Worked for 5 hours got back the Suburban and put the Lexus (silver) in for servicing-- got lost around Pleasanton- this was before work. After work I came home, ate lunch, and put the sourdough starter to work creating actual bread which is rising as I type this! (I can't believe I didn't kill the yeast! I left the bowl on the dryer while it was on and it got really, I mean really hot!) Then I got a call from McWhorter's which shattered my hopes of a temporary real job- they basically said we'd love to hire you, but you leave in two weeks which is the time it takes to fully train you-- call us if you have a three week or month long break" so I hope they aren't just trying to make me feel good and it is because of time... Got a call from Jenny about clubbing tonight (I couldn't go) and a party tomorrow ffor Katie and Lauren. More B-Day presents to buy! Then mom and I picked up the lexus and drove to the scrapbook store-- it was all I could think of for Jasleen-- I picked out a cover and grabbed bright paper - she likes bright colors - pretty regular patterns (funny Joy- a girl I met at Jasleen's parties months ago was just starting to work there she was slow at the register but it was her first day- nice kid going to BYU Idaho in Spring)- ok so I ran home wrote a note on the inside, cut the paper, filled the sleeves, grabbed my Senior portrait and an eighth grade picture of us, shoved those in, wrote "Friends" as a movable title and "For Jasleen on her 18th Birthday" as well. Then it was 6 and I had to leave to help set up for the party. There I met Linda going to Cal Poly, Aisha going to Hayward and later to Cal, Jessica going to LasPositas, and Raioli?? (I can't spell or remember names!!) going to UC Santa Cruz. All really nice. Jasleen arrived through the garage as was NOT expected so she had a pretty good view of the "surprise before it hit her. We met her neighbors this cool elderly couple and their daughter- the father was 80 and had been an ice skater before the war his elder brother would've gone to the olympics had it not been canceled during the war. He himself was fairly good and his brother still teaches. The wife runs every day and makes stained glass windows (she also made Jasleen's delicious cake!). Their dauughter was pretty cool too. We all hung out ate pizza, hors d'oeuvres, egg rolls, chicken, and Indian desserts. Had Cake and Jasleen opened her presents-- the neighbors gave her this beautiful stained glass butterfly. We then played half a game of Cranium talked and around 11:30 I left... The streets of Pleasanton are really dead on weekday nights even on Fridays... during the school year-- there's no one around to rip it up-- and even then who'd want to in Pleasanton! So yeah I'm home now and tired... Tomorrrow i'd like to go to SF - probably won't happen though... I'll see... time for me to hit the hay- jump in the sack whatever i'm tired good night and sorry for the unemmotional practically itemized list of what happened... but i'm just muuch too tired and still in my ruch mode. Wow!! 1:02!!! time for sleep!
