Watch the Birdie!
Written after On a Clear day...

Who noticed the nodding bird on his cupboard? Years and years ago I used to be bought one of them occasionally as a treat. They're made of glass, have some sort of liquid (usually red) in the bulb at the bottom. You balance the bird swinging on a little stand, push its sort-of-furry beak into a full glass of water and it will happily peck away for days with occasional water refills. I'd be fascinated to know the when, why, how of Cullen's bird  This is even more fascinating than the dancing sunflower on Boulton's desk!

I didn't see it on Saturday, but I've got a feeling Deakin left it behind, actually.

Could be very wrong, it's just that I'm sure I saw it a while ago...

Hmmmingly

If Deakin did leave it behind and it survived the search and destroy mission by CIB then it must be closely related to a phoenix - even more magical and mysterious

(Did I mention fascinating?)

Who keeps filling the glass with water?...would a DI do something so menial?...another of life's little mysteries.

Judy

The house elf.

I didn't see the little birdie, but it just goes to show that our ruby-haired hero may like little toys to take his mind off the more serious side of his job.

Lucy

Sounds like a reasonable description of his shower of a unit

I can resist no longer. His Nibs as Lucius Malfoy. Hand him a sock to throw at the poor creature...

Or maybe His Nibs as Gilderoy Lockhart might be better -- self-promoting, got some talent but possibly not as advertised...

(Pennington as Fudge? June Ackland as Mrs Weasley? Alex Cullen for Remus Lupin, even if it does mean lycanthropy as an unfortunate side effect...)

I see Chandler more as Snape. *Waits for Jo to stop spluttering* Oh, all right - Lucius Malfoy's nephew?

A ruby haired werewolf? Yeah, I can go there  What about a male version of McGonagal (sp?) or even poor Ron - the eternally overshadowed friend?  Gilmore as Percy? Cass certainly has the hair for Hermoine, but not, I'm afraid the brains.

Perhaps TREV does it when he's finished all the paper shuffling.

A paper shuffler's work is never done...

...drinking bird which you may catch in the background on a cabinet behind Cullen when he is sitting at his desk. That was my first personal (i.e. Ged's) input into the show.....  The drinking bird relates to a favourite episode of 'The Simpsons'.

Ged Simmons, July 2002
Well, in the beginning of the ep.[Debt of Love] I thought that the return of Cullen's Drinking Bird was to be the only good installment of the whole series...
