This is the third part of a Ben story arc about drugs and friends. Alex's main job is to be very rightly suspicious of the Drug Squad DC, Phil Raven, demonstrate advanced water cooler leaning and look at Vik more-in-sorow-than-in anger.
I'm not sure that this is from this episode but it does combine Cullen and water cooler so how could I resist?
This earns its place as a demonstration of the lovely blue shirt Alex was wearing at the beginning of the episode. Later on he was wearing one of my (and I'm sure Chandler's) least favourite ties -
Another interesting thing is that this is another episode where Cullen reveals an enviable string of contacts across the Met. Being sensibly unimpressed by Raven he does some ringing around of mates and discovers that he's been dumped on us to get him out of Drug Squad's hair.
Vik - So he's not in the loop?
Alex - with some satisfaction - Still managed to give you the runaround though.
Alex had, after all, spent most of the episode telling Vik to keep an eye on Raven and to not let him get away with too much. Doubt if he ever really believed that Vik was going to manage it though - despite what Vik thinks, it is my contention that his tie-pin wearing sergeant impresses him little more than his curly-haired one.
