TV ACTOR MAKES SURE BAGGIES GET TOP BILLING ON SHOW A TV actor who is also a die-hard Baggies fan is showing support for his beloved team on national television - by putting his Albion mug in every possible shot of ITV's series The Bill. Birmingham actor Ged Simmons, who has played Detective Inspector Alex Cullen in the ITV drama for two years, grew up in Oxhill Road, Handsworth, near to the Hawthorns. The 41 year old is leaving the show after his character was among a number axed by a new producer brought in last year. But before he goes the avid Albion fan is making sure he gets plenty of coverage for his team by taking his Baggies mug on set. Ged has left The Bill but there are five episodes still to be screened. "I have tried to get my Baggies mug in all the remaining episodes. Some people on set realised what I was doing but didn't mind, others thought I was just having a cup of coffee. My grandad and dad were both fans and me and my older brother have followed suit." He went to St Augustine's Primary School, Handsworth Grammar School and Walsall College.
