The Beauty Queen of Leenane

A National Tour by 'Not the National Theatre Company'

Ged is now playing Pato Dooley in the Not the National Theatre Company's tour of this play.

Not The National Theatre was founded by former National Theatre players with the aim to present plays in simple productions capable of playing in any open space with minimum décor. The co-operative company was set up in 1983 and is owned and managed by the actors. Its work is intended to be useful, especially to young people new to the theatre and new to classics. The company tours with new productions every year performing in fifty to sixty different venues across UK.(from Greenwich Cooperative Development Agency)

"The Beauty Queen of Leenane was Martin McDonagh's startling debut. First produced at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin in 1996, it quickly transferred to London's Royal Court and then opened on Broadway to rave reviews and nominations for six Tony Awards. Along the way it won the George Devine Award, the Writers Guild Award, and the Critics Circle Award, and McDonagh picked up the Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright.
