2002 saw the launch of two major volumes that have been edited from the Archive:

Xavier Mendik & Steven Jay Schneider (ed's) Underground USA: Filmmaking Beyond the Hollywood Canon. (London: Wallflower Press). This is the first edition of 'AlterImage', the Cult Film Archive's annual book series.

Xavier Mendik (ed) Shocking Cinema of the Seventies. (Hereford: Noir Publishing). This volume considers the social and cinematic issues which shaped the films of the decade. Here, leading theorists and critics consider genres such as horror, blaxploitation and kung-fu in order to discover the truth behind one of the most turbulent periods of cinema history.
