Svengoolie and the Son of Svengoolie are a Cult Classic pair from Windy City infamy.
TV viewers from Chicago-land and its neighboring areas may recall Jerry Bishop as the original Svengoolie from 1970-1973.
The above-left picture is of Jerry Bishop and your Web Host circa 1973. In 1979, Rick Koz, the gentleman pictured in the upper right and then known as "The Son of Svengoolie," shortening the name in the 90s to the original moniker of his forebear, became the campy macabre weekend horror show host that this reviewer watched for several years.
Svengoolie puts a great deal of traditional tongue-in-cheek fun into all things otherwise "dark and creepy." Finding the humor in horror and accenting it, Svengoolie is the perfect showman for such a timeless gag.
