Drinking His consuming cup,
Consuming the hay and stubble of
Our wills and the old creatures.
Gone up in smoke is sacrificial fat,
Disbursed in the winds of eternity.
Dross is burned away in allowed
earthly tribulation,
Leaving pure gold, refined silver.
Sharing in Christ's sufferings creates,
with fiery pressure,
Joyful jewels for immortal crowns.
We have the Son of God in our fire,
As did Shadrach, Meshach and

Christ's cup brings blessings
And abundance of good gifts.
