How to Get Involved
Not a lifeguard yet?
Not "ready" for competition?
Interested to see what a Lifeguard Comp is all about?
Want to help out?
We want your help to make this competition successful. Anyone who has ever had any part in a competition, whether it be organizing, competing, etc. knows that without help from volunteers, THEY WON'T RUN. Volunteers make or break these events. We would LOVE to have you come out and experience a lifeguard competition regardless of where your training lies.
Victims/Volunteers
Victims are vital. We need good victims throughout the duration of the competition to accurately portray different types of patients that the competitors must deal with. Volunteers are needed to help with the overall running of the competition: score tallying, computer input, runners, assistants, etc. If you think you'd be interested in helping out with the competition, please email us at [email protected]. In your email, please include the following information:
Name
Age
Phone number & location (city)
Level of training (we ask that all victims under 19 have minimum of a Bronze Medallion or some other level of first aid training)
Interest area (eg. victim, runner, computer, etc.)
Competition experience, if any
Victim's and volunteers receive lunch for the day and are entered for spot prizes.
Judges
Obviously, every competition needs competent judges for it to run. If you are interested in judging at the 2001 CULC Competition, please send us your name and competition experience (years competing, years judging, organization, etc.). At this time, we are asking all judges to either hold a valid NLS Instructor award or have a minimum of 3 years competition experience. Send an email to [email protected] if interested.
Judges receive lunch, banquet ticket, and shirt.
