The Witness

The touch of his wind across my face
The suns everlasting warm embrace
A rainbow after the heavenly shower
Faith to move mountains every hour
Tree tops bending to the weathers might
The star lit sky in the void of night
A launch from a sparrows nest
That one decision I made best
The laughter as a child bounces by
That special gleam in a fathers eye
The howl at the full, harvest moon
Never sitting down to an empty spoon
A summers breeze through forest trees
A bedside child on their knees
Hymns ringing through that old church bell
Being picked up after I fell
Cross-stretched arms spread so wide
His love forever, never will I hide
Dandelion seeds blown in the air
Always having someone to care
Quiet times in the morning mist
The love in mothers nightly kiss
The letters he sent under lamplight
Pounding the clay with all his might
Head bowed low on my knees
Having desire only to please
These are the things I see him in the most
God the father, our heavenly host
These are the things that I want to be
When that childs eyes look up at me
No longer shall they see this mortal man
But the work of Gods gentle hand
