While working on project "Roja" we met some new friends. The great thing about owning a Jeep is that you automaticaly belong to a club. Everybody with a Jeep waves at you and more importantly some people invite you to go wheeling with them. Initialy we had some problems with the "Roja". The first thing was we lost a shock, and had to put it back on, the second was that we couldn't get the vacuum engage on the forward shaft to engage. Hey, it's not four wheeling untill you break something. We fixed our problems on the trail, and had a great day of wheeling.

With no notice, we put out the call to other Jeep owners, and instantly we were rewarded with a half dozen people that wanted to go off roading. That is the difference between Jeep owners and the other 4x4 owners. A Jeepster is ready 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week to go off road.

Once we reached the Outerbanks, we could drive on the beach. We raced down the beach at 50 miles per hour. This is why I own a Jeep.

So when we first showed up and I'm ready to wheel, I have a problem with my front lock up, and we end up sinking our rear axel up to the pumpking in sand. This does not bode well for our day. Luckily Don with his CJ tows us out of being entrapped by the sand.

Thankfully we weren't the only ones to get stuck in the sand. Josh got stuck too, and we had to have Don extricate him as well.

Once we fixed our locking problem, we were able to tackle the tails with gusto!

We all took turns on a dune. The mighty "Roja" scales a sand dune.
