Course in London, cost HKD$30000
Candidate 1
...Concerning the course in London, it mainly focused on neurology short cases with not much respiratory cases, perhaps because the neurology cases are more stable. It is a 4 day course. Each day was divided into 4 sessions, usually 2 short cases session, 1 history and 1 communication station. Each group ~ 6-8 candidates, was led by 2 lecturer, would see ~ 6 short cases and 1 candidate would examine and present the case in front of the group. Lecturer would focus on presentation skill but seldom comment on examination technique due to time limitation. Short case station was a bit rush. About the Hx and communication station, there would be a professional surrogate for each candidate, just like in the exam. The location of the course would be different each time. My course was held in Edgware, zone 4 in London. Course fee will be the same each time, it just mean that the organization could make more profit when the course was held in rural area than in the central zone due to cheaper rental fee in rural hospital.
On the whole the course is worthwhile as most of the cases are museum cases but all have shown in the exam. Also lecturer are very experienced and helpful.
Candidate 2
...Concerning the PACES course in London. I will suggest candidates to attend the course if they would like to have the exam in UK.
