CUFSA in Montreal 2002

Cufsa in Montreal

The trip to Montreal was the second ever trip by CUFSA to the wonderful province of Quebec. And while the first trip was a blast, there was no doubt that the second trip would be just as good. The trip was organized just two weeks prior to the scheduled date, and it was in the best interest of CUFSA to represent our group in protesting the involvement of US troops in the Philippines. This two day trip had everything from site seeing in Montreal to marching down the streets of the downtown area.

Our first official stop was at St. Joe's Cathedral and while everyone was enjoying the many steps we had to walk, Joe informed us of the wonderful stories he had told previous visitors to the Cathedral. In particular the many questionable traditions of going up each step on your knees and then rolling down the hills on the grass. Fortunately for us the only real weird thing was RJ's constant obsession with attaining black pants in order for him to go clubbing later on in the evening.

From St. Joe's we went to dinner and while Montreal is always a nice place to indulge in some fine, unique cuisine us at the Carleton University Filipino Students Association went back to our roots...We ate Chinese Food!!!
