Rita Skinner's Endorsement

It is my honor to endorse this slate of candidates. They are the most individually committed group of people that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I have co-chaired the Fair Share Committee with Craig for the past 7 months, meeting almost weekly for 2 hours or more to implement this important legislation, and Elinor and Claudia have attended almost every meeting offering their expertise. All three of them from the beginning had a commitment to sending out a member survey, keeping dues low, and ensuring that fair share goes into effect in the most smooth and harmless way to our members and non-members alike.

As an Executive Board member, I found Elinor to be a strong, intelligent and talented leader, always willing to listen and determined to be democratic and put the interests of members first. Claudia shows a determination to hear all sides of issues and is always very creative in finding ways to compromise, while standing firm in the essence of her beliefs.

Debbie is also a person of integrity and believes in the democracy of the union. She has always taken careful and accurate minutes and notes and has been very creative in working on CUE's webpage.

I also hold a deep respect for Craig. He too is creative and holds so much knowledge and has been an encyclopedia of information on fair share. I think his knowledge of grievances has been amply shown on the activist list where he frequently has "the" answer to questions posted there.

I do not leave out Mark Covington for lack of support, but merely because I have had little contact with him personally. My strong feeling is that if the rest of these people I respect so greatly have invited him to be on their "slate", then he must be an excellent candidate.
