Hello,
This page is more of a brag than anything and just a way of showing off how much weight I have lost in the last 11 months.  In July last year (2001) I stood on a pair of scales and realised my weight had ballooned to 102kgs (225lbs) well..... I knew I had to do
something but what???  I overheard a friend at church telling someone about this great diet she was on where she could eat bacon and eggs or an omlette for breakfast, full cream cream and sour cream and she was still losing weight, in fact, she looked great and I thought this is for me!!!  So I asked her what diet she was on.  The diet she was following is called The Atkins diet developed by cardiologist Dr Atkins it is a low carbohydrate diet.  I got a copy of his book The New Diet Revolution and read it from cover to cover before embarking on my new diet.  It was hard and people thought I was mad but I was convinced this diet could work for me and it did!  in the first five months I lost 17kgs (37lbs).  After restricting carbohydrates for all this time I decided I needed a change and Weight Watchers Points Plan sounded the most attractive to me as no food is disallowed.  I have lost a further 7kgs (15lbs) I feel great and think I look good too.  See what you think...
Before After
Quite a dramatic change and scary when I look back now to see how big I was.  I still have a little way to go but I can see the goal in view.  I remember when I first started thinking "I'm never going to get there!!!" and now being amazed at how I look and feel now fitting into clothes I haven't worn for years and wearing jeans that I only just poured myself into before and now they swim on me (btw I can wear my husbands jeans now!!!).  So if you are just starting out or if you are mid goal hang in there the sacrifice and hard work is worth it.
Below I have included links to both The Atkins Center and Weight Watchers Australia feel free to visit and see which diet might be best for you.

Update January 2005
Well... that was almost three years ago and now a few kilos have crept back on and I am NOT HAPPY!  So I've decided to do something about it and have joined Weight Watchers 'At Home'.  I joined in late November 04 at 83kg and am now back to 78.5kg (see after photo above).  Being a shift worker means I eat at very irregular times especially when on night duty when the chocolate and chips come out, call them my survival mechanisms.  Well I have had enough and decided to do something about it.  Below I have uploaded a virtual before and after model for you to see what I'll look like...... if you would like to make a virtual model of you go to www.mvm.com
virtual before
virtually after?
If you'd like to keep up with my progress then you can track it with me in my online journal click on journal and search for cuddlefish corner, be prepared for utter silliness, sometimes funny (maybe), sometimes sad....
