My history�s hittin� hard, straight to the core, What I�m about to tell you, isn�t a bore. Located in Central Africa Is a country called Rwanda Full of gorillas, hippos, zebras and llamas. Grassy hills and very green, they say �from the sky� When the truth is told, it will make you cry. 7.9 million, very crowded conditions Full of hatred, Hutus and Tutsis divided in sections In 1994 Rwanda became history Hutus went on a rampage and a killing spree Many innocent were wounded and tried to flee. No where to hide, no way to stay safe No one to turn to, no one would help Most of the Tutsis gathered at the Rwanda Hotel The Hutus finally broke in and checked the grounds well. To the Tutsis it was literally a place called Hell. UN soldiers had come from France To try and prevent further bloodshed Within 24 hours, 250 thousand escaped, Including friendly Hutus, who were hunted down as well. The arrests started in 1995 For the military responsible for the massacre Many flee the country but most in jail, Sitting behind bars telling tales. The civil war ended in 1997 The refugees return and begin the caring. |
