Northking Eudora
And
Kingfisher Red Barron
In 1998 I began my serious quest for an ACD and came into contact with Mrs Rose Savage of King's North in England whose bitch, Lismear Piskie, had a litter - sired by Drenoss Red Wyola.
Taz (Northking Eudora) had been born on 9/9/88 and flew to Scotland in November of that year - the first ACD in Scotland, as far as I am aware.
In November of the following year she was joined by Kingfisher Red Barron (Dill) on his way back to his breeder from the north of Scotland to the south of England.
Taz, like many ACDs, was not particularly keen on strange dogs so I was rather taken aback by her reaction to Dill, she just loved him on first sight.
Taz was probably the most serious dog I have ever owned, I think she was born old! On the other hand Dill is probably the daftest dog that has ever lived here and is up for anything.
The photograph below, with our 'sprocker' spaniel, Sian, probably says it all. There was no way Taz would be persuaded to wear a scarf and she pulled it off every time we put it on her, whereas Dill thought it was great fun and that he looked 'the bees knees!' A photo cannot do justice to the beautiful red colour he really is.
Taz, unfortunately, died in July 1994 after a caesarian operation. We miss her still. Dill, however, is still here, as rowdy as ever at 11 years of age - I don't think he will ever change, though we keep hoping he will quieten down!
