Lucas Terrier Scrapbook

The Lucas terrier was making slow progress, with few puppies born each year and, in many cases, quality was lacking. Then on 18/6/93 the above litter was born. Sired by a small tan dog called Brewer's Teddy, their dam was an old fashioned Sealyham type by the name of Dandy's Dainty Ice Lady. The litter comprised of 4 dogs, seen here, and one bitch. Three of the dogs, Noddy, Tippytoes and Whitethroat were tan, one dog, Blackjack was saddle and tan as was the only bitch, Frost's Szasza.

Left to right in the photograph we have Blackjack, who went to France, Noddy (at front), Tippy behind and Whitethroat (known as Barney) at the far rear. Frost's Tippytoes was to become the most prolific sire of Lucas terriers in recent years.
