PACK FISHING OUTING - April 18th at the Irvine Lake, 4621 Santiago Canyon Road, Silverado, CA 92676, (714) 649-9111. We'll meet there at 9:00 a.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for scouts and siblings ages 4-12 years. Entrance other than fishing is $3 per person. Pack will collect payment at our April 13th meeting. A store and cafe are located at the lake providing food, bait and tackle, and other supplies. A strick catch and release policy is enforced for bass. Limits apply for other species. A fishing license is not required. There is also a picnic area. Each den will plan their own food. DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Take FWY 55 to the Chapman Avenue east off ramp. Go east on Chapman Avenue for about 7.5 miles (Chapman turns into Santiago Canyon Road). Irvine Lake will be on your left side. Pack will have a fishing workshop for the boys at our April 13th meeting.

GRADUATION - June 12. Nelson will head a planning committee. Other committee members are Joe S., Steve and Rey.
PACK FAMILY CAMPOUT - May 21-23 at the Sycamore Canyon, Point Mugu. Menu: Saturday Breakfast - pancakes, sausage, orange juice. Saturday Lunch - cold cuts, chips, cup-o-soup. Saturday Dinner - barbecue (meat, chicken or pork -TBD), corn on the husk, beans, punch, hot cocoa, dutch oven desert. Sunday Breakfast - sausage burrito, eggs, orange juice. More info to follow.

ROUND TABLE MEETING - April 14^th. Meeting place is at the Cerritos LDS Stake Center, 16115 Studebaker Road, Cerritos, (one block south of Alondra Blvd.). Assembly starts at 7 p.m.
CUB SCOUT DAY CAMP '99 - This year's theme is "Flying Into the 21^st Century". It will be held on August 2-6 at the Shoshonean Campground on Hoxie Avenue, Norwalk. Register early to get the discounted price.

SPRING CAMP-O-REE - The next Camporee is on April 30^th through May 2^nd at the Firestone Scout Reservation in Brea. The theme is "The Civil War". See Nelson for more information.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

ST. JOHN OF GOD PARISH SPAGHETTI DINNER - This year's Spaghetti Dinner as a fundraising event for St. John of God Parish will be on April 25^th. The Girl Scouts take the lead this year in coordinating the event, with the support of Boy Scouts Troop 549 and Cub Scouts Pack 549. Each scouting family at St. John of God will receive 10 dinner ticket to sell, at $3 per ticket. If you have more than one kid either with the Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts or Cub Scouts, you should still receive 10 tickets only. Pack 549' has been asked to contribute garlic bread and salad. Pack 549's coordinator this year is Bobby. Call Bobby for questions and information regarding the Spaghetti Dinner.
FOSSIL DIGGING at the RALPH B. CLARK REGIONAL PARK - 8800 Rosecrans Ave., Buena Park, (714) 670-8052. The Park will have a Family Day (Open to the Public) on May 15^th, Saturday at 9:30 am. Admission is FREE. There is a Park Parking fee of $4 per vehicle. The Fossil Digging Program is a 3-hour program led by a paleontologist.

CITY OF NORWALK SMALL FRY & YOUTH SOCCER LEAGUES - Sign-up now before time runs out! The Small Fry and Youth Soccer games are soon to begin. Sign-up is on-going. For information and registration, contact the Norwalk Arts & Sports Complex.
NORWALK GOLF CENTER JUNIOR CLUB AND TOURNAMENTS - Fore! Is your youth Interested in Golfing? The Norwalk Golf Center (NGC) is accepting applications for the NGC Junior Club. Here's a chance to have fun and learn the game of golf at the same time. As a Junior Club member, special rates apply to practice balls and green fees. There will be prizes and fun. Membership fee is $10 per year. There are also tournaments for the kids available, at a tournament cost of $10 per Junior Club member per tournament. Divisions: 11 and under (best ball format), 12-14 (stroke) and 15-17 (stroke). TREE PLANTING -
The ShadeTree Partnership of Irvine will be sponsoring a series of tree planting events.
- April 10^th, 9 a.m. Tree Planting. Will be planting California native trees at the Fairview Nature Preserve. Located next to the Santa Ana River in the City of Costa Mesa.
- April 24^th, 9 a.m. Earth Day Tree Planting. Will be planting trees along the bike path and bridal trails in the Northwoods Village of Irvine.
- May 15^th, 9 a.m. Seedling Planting. Will planting tree seedlings at the ShadeTree Nursery at the University of California, Irvine. Will plant seedlings into 15 gallon size containers. The seedlings will grow in the nursery for the next two years.

MINUTES OF THE PARENTS' MEETING - APRIL 1^st

Spring Camporee - Webelos I and II are to attend the Camporee beginning Friday afternoon. Other Cub Scouts are to attend Saturday and/or Sunday day programs. Information handouts given at the meeting. Check with your den leader.

Pack Fishing Outing - Flyer given out at the Pack Meeting on March 30th. Pack will collect money for the fishing trip at the April 13^th den meeting. Den Leaders are to call their den parents to inform them. Bring food to the fishing trip. Each den will plan their own food. Pack will have a fishing workshop at the Den meetings on April 13^th.

Killer Bee Presentation - Originally planned for April 13^th is CANCELLED.

Spaghetti Dinner - Each Cub Scout family is to donate bread and lettuce (or a bag of mixed salad green). Bring it on April 25^th. Cub Scouts will sell Spaghetti Dinner tickets after the 9:30 mass on April 25th, which is also a Scout Sunday mass. Each family is to sell 10 tickets. Turn in all Spaghetti Dinner money to Bobby.

Webelos II will continue to visit other Troops.

The Webelos from another Pack will be visiting our Pack on April 13^th.

Graduation - June 12^th. Nelson will lead a graduation planning committee. Members:Steve, Rey & Joe S.
