Flag Ceremony Commands

Opening:

The leader of the Color Guard shall approach the center of the floor, while the members of the color guard remain at attention in the rear of the room.

The Leader commands the Color Guard members with the following orders:

"Audience, Please rise." The audience rises. If Scout is in uniform and wearing a scout hat they can keep them on, all other hats must be taken off.

"Color Guard, Advance." Bring flags forward to stands. The US Flag is held by the line to the right. When they approach the front the US Flag crosses in front of the Pack Flag and they both proceed to the stands. The US Flag is to go on the speakers right side. The boys holding the flags should face the audience while the boys following face the US Flag.

"Scouts, Salute." The boys holding the flags DO NOT salute, but the boys that followed DO. All those in uniform, salute - others place hands over hearts, and then:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

"To." Lower their hands and stop saluting.

"Color Guard, Post the colors." Place flags in stands.

"Color Guard, Retreat." The Color Guard returns to the back of room.

Closing:

The leader of the Color Guard shall approach the center of the floor, while the members of the color guard remain at attention in the rear of the room.

The Leader commands the Color Guard members with the following orders:

"Audience, Please rise for the closing Color Guard Ceremony." The audience rises. If Scout is in uniform and wearing a scout hat they can keep them on, all other hats must be taken off.

"Color Guard, advance." The Color Guard approaches the Leader and stands at attention in front of the leader.

"Color Guard, salute." All Color Guard members salute the US Flag.
