Tiger Cubs, BSA, is for the first-grade boy and an adult member for his family.

The program is organized so that it is family oriented. Your boy and you are registered members of the program. Tiger Cubs, BSA, centers on the boy's interacting with an adult member of the family. That adult might me a mother or father, a stepparent, an uncle or aunt, a grandparent, an older brother or sister. The adult might even be a neighbor if no family member is available. What is important is that the boy takes part in the program with a caring, loving adult

But the program goes beyond the boy and the adult. Many of its goals and activities are designed to involve the whole family, and benefit the whole family.

The Boy Scouts of America has designed this phase of its program for boys who are in the first grade or are at least 7 years old. At the end of the program year, boys will be eligible to join Cub Scouting.

Tiger Cub groups are affiliated with a Cub Scout pack, but for the most part, the Tiger Cub program operates independently of the Cub Scout pack activities.
