Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) brings together over half a million Scouts via Amateur Radio. Young people of all nations, regardless of their culture, religion or race, exchange views and share ideas. JOTA and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) which are held on the same weekend in October, play an increasingly important role in bringing Scouts and Guides from around the world together. Scouting has grown from an idea into a Movement of more than 28 million young people and adults in 216 countries and territories. 1st Mount Waverley Cub Scout Pack has been involved with Caulfield JOTA since the group was formed in 1996 and one of the forming groups, 8th Waverley had been involved since 1989. Over the years we have contacted Cubs, Scouts and Leaders in many areas of Australia and several overseas countries including Toowoomba, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth, Flinders Ranges, Japan, New Zealand and United States |
