Dillybags: This should be a cloth drawstring bag as plastic bags will not last for the week and the plastic does not allow damp eating gear to dry properly which can lead to health risks.

Bedding: It is preferred that the Cubs take a lilo or camp stretcher to put their sleeping bag on rather than a foam mattress. There are advantages and disadvantages with each type but if the weather is wet a foam mattress will soak up water / condensation which will result in a wet / uncomfortable Cub Scout. If a lilo is taken, Cub Scouts must also have the facilities to inflate it. Some lilos are self-inflating or are easy to blow up - others arent.

A Beanie is recommended, as a lot of heat can be lost through the head. Wearing a woollen beanie at night can minimise this and help keep a Cub Scout warm in bed.

Health Forms: Please ensure that all health forms are returned before the end of term. The forms must be returned to your Leader before the end of term or, if you do not have one of your own Leaders attending please return it directly to your Pack Akela.

Carry Bags: As the Cub Scouts will be travelling by bus the Cuboree organisers have suggested the Cub Scouts use a suitcase. Please do not use the striped plastic carry bags as they will not last the duration of the camp. Cub Scouts should pack their bag themselves under supervision of a parent. This way they will know what they have and where it is. (Remember that your child will need to be able to carry it!).

District Badges: One popular activity among Cubs and Scouts at large events is swapping district badges. Cubs can swap badges with friends they make from other Packs and add to their camp blanket collection.
1st Cranbourne will be supplying each of their Cub Scouts with 4 or 5 badges.
1st Mount Waverley Cubs can purchase badges ($1.10 each) from their Leaders.
Other Waverley groups can purchase badges from the District badge secretary - Ask your Leader for his phone number.

    Top

No spending money, radios, pocket knives, electronic games, or mobile phones.
If any of these, or other items considered inappropriate, are found, they will be confiscated for the duration of the camp and returned to the Cub Scouts parent afterwards. No responsibility will be accepted for any money or valuables.
No lollies are to be brought - If any are found they will be collected and shared with the whole Pack.

MEDICATION must be clearly marked with Cub Scouts name and dose and handed to the Leaders before departure. Cub Scouts are NOT to carry any medication without the leaders knowledge. Please ensure that details are included on the health form.

BED WETTING: We quietly and discretely deal with this occurrence on camp. Even if your child is an occasional bed wetter, there are a couple of things that we ask you to do:
    • Explain to your child that it is not a problem
    • Note the possibility of bedwetting on the Medical form.
    • Please send Extra Pyjamas

    Scarves

We have finally received our Cuboree scarves which are Dark Blue. You will receive your scarf on Tuesday morning. The scarves will be named for you since you won't have a chance to name them yourselves and with 60 identical scarves in our Pack we don't want them mixed up.

    ID Tags and Passports

ID Tags and Passports will be distributed after arrival at Gilwell Park.

    Sixes

At present we will have eight Sixes, each under the care of a "Line Leader". Minor changes are still being made to the Pack so the Cub Scouts have not been allocated to Sixes yet. We intend to keep Cub Scouts with members of their Home Pack. Sixes will be announced upon arrival.

    Gateway

As with all good campsites we will be having a gateway which provides the entrance to our Pack's campsite in much the same way as a front gate or door at home. The finished nameboard for the gateway is shown above. Click on the picture to see a closeup.

    Word Find

Thank you to Fiona Grima for providing this 2002CUBoree wordfind. You will need Acrobat PDF reader to open it.

I hope you've had better luck with the Wordfind than I have - I suspect there are a couple of "G"s missing to the right of the right hand column. Possibly a couple of the words are hiding there too.

    Theme Song: Don't Stop Movin' (S Club7)

(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat)
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat)
    Yeah, ah c'mon
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat) oh
(Don't stop movin' to the s club beat)

    Verse 1
DJ got the party started there's no end in sight
Everybody's moving to the rhythm that's inside
It's a crazy world but tonight's the right situation
    Don't get left behind
I can feel the music movin' through me everywhere
Ain't no destination baby, we don't even care
There's a place to be if you need right education
    Let it take you there

    Bridge
And just go with magic baby
I can see it's there in your eyes
(I can see it's there in your eyes, yeah)
Let it flow, stop the waiting
Right here on the dance floor is where you gotta let it go

    Chorus
Don't stop movin', can you feel the music
DJ's got us goin' around, round (don't stop movin')
Don't stop movin', find your own way to it
    Listen to the music
Taking you to places that you've never been before
    Baby now

    Interlude
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat) oh woah
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat) yeah, yeah, yeah

    Verse 2
You can touch the moment almost feel it in the air (ooh)
Don't know where we're going baby, we don't even care
Ain't no mystery, just use your imagination
    Let it take you there

    Bridge

    Chorus

    Interlude

    Bridge 2
    Forget about your fears tonight
Listen to your heart, let's just touch the sky
(Listen to your heart) no need to reason why
Just listen to the sound and it makes you come alive

    Chorus x2

(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat)
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat)
(Don't stop movin' to the funky funky beat)
(Don't stop movin' to the s club beat, beat, beat, beat)
