I found The Wind of Destiny very interesting to read.  The historical events were very factual and made history come alive.  I especially enjoyed the references to God and how He helps us through trials and troubled times.
I also found the book sprinkled with many heart-felt, meaningful sayings, such as "She felt the strong warmth of his fingers encircling hers."
I will be sure to keep this book in a prominent place to share with my friends.

                                                   Sincerely,

The Wind of Destiny held my attention on three levels.  As a trainer of horses, I enjoyed the description of equine activities on the plantation.  As a student of history, I was fascinated to learn of the manner in which horses were shipped during the Spanish American War.  As a Michigander, I was curious to know of the motivations and travels of those who decided to settle here.  Catherine Brakefield has a grand heritage and I thank her for sharing it.
