Pack 84                                   Parent Meeting Minutes                                  October 13, 2003

 Cub Master Report: (Robert)

  1. The upcoming Pow Wow will be on Oct 25th. Babysitting is available. Let�s try to carpool!
  2. November�s theme is: Pilgrims of Plymouth Rock.
  3. Diane is working on current phone lists. Let�s use them and keep in touch with everyone.
  4. Let�s start a Used Uniform Closet! If you have any old uniforms that are still in good shape- donate them. Uniforms can become costly and this is a great way to pass on clothes and help other boys.
  5. Our parent meetings are increasing in size! We will look into moving the parents meetings to our sponsoring church Horizon Community. Rosemary has lots of great reference books. You can check them out at the parent meetings starting Nov 10th

Welcome new Leaders!

  1. We have three new dens: Tigers, Wolfs and 1st year Webelos.
  2.  If any new leader needs help or ideas please call anyone of us. We are here to support and guide you and your den.

Treasure Report: (Jolean L.)

  1. The financial report for July 15, 2003 to Oct. 13, 2003 was presented. Mike motioned to accept the budget. Charlene 2nd the motion. The budget was accepted.
  2. Den 2 with three boys has closed leaving money in the account. It was presented that 1/3rd of the account goes to Den 1 (where 1 boy moved to) and the other 2/3rd goes into the cub master acct. Charlene motioned to accept proposal. Motion was accepted.
  3. Den dues � There is two ways to handle the den dues. 1) The den leader keeps the dues, records expenses and keeps receipts or 2) the den leader turns the dues over to the treasurer (JoLean) and would then turn in receipts for reimbursement. Either way is acceptable

Trainer Report: (Diane W.)

  1. Diane is back in town! (for now). Call her for information if needed. 

General

  1. Recruiting has gone well this year!  19 Boys and 11 Adults�.Great Job!
  2. Popcorn sales (Jolean)
    1. Order forms due Oct 31st.
    2. Money due by Nov 27th
    3. On-Site sale will be Oct 25th & 26th at Savemart. Be there and plan to sell loads!
  3. Scouting for food will be on Nov 22. We will meet at the Galt Concilio at 9am. Boys must be in uniform. Plan to collect cans and sort cans until 3pm! Encourage all boys and parents to participate � the more involved, the less time it will take.
  4. We will have a float in the Lighting of the Night parade on Dec 6th. Thank you Troy for volunteering to lead this endevour.
  5. Webelos 2 will be opening for the City council on Nov 4th.

 Halloween Carnival (Charlene and Rosemary)

  1. Boy Scout troop 238  will lead the opening ceremony
  2. Dress up in your costume!  There will be a costume contest
  3. Bring a pre-carved pumpkin for the pumpkin carving contest
  4. Each den:
    1. Create a game to play at the carnival
    2. Bring candy to give away at your game site. The dollar store has bags of candy for $1.00
    3. Bring cookies or snacks to share at the meeting.
  5. Does anyone have decorations they could loan for the carnival?
  6. We are in need of parent volunteers to help at the craft table
