Report from the Blue Coyote's:

Recent den events have included an outing to the Science Museum of Virginia. The boys experienced a stroke of luck in running into an employee at the museum who has a degree in geology.  The boys had a wonderful time learing about fossils, volcanoes, rock structure testing and indigenous rock formations.  In spending time with our boys,  the museum employee helped us move a step closer to completeing the requirements for the Geology Activity Badge.
Excellent job guys!!

Community Service:
Our pack service project for the Habitat for Humanity will go like this...

Each den will recieve a "kit" to make a flower box.   Each Den is to assemble their box, paint it white, and plant some flowers in the box.  The boxes will be given to Habitat for Humanity for houses that are expected to be completed in either June or July.  Actual completion dates are still to be determined.  The presentation of the completed house to the new homeowner takes place at a dedication ceremony.  As soon as the dedication dates are decided, they are going to let us know and we will e-mail them out to the den leaders.  We are invited to attend the ceremony, if we would like, and we can present the flower boxes right there, to the family!  We will share details as they become available

Special thanks to Scott Fresco for coordinating this event!!

Please watch this site for details regarding this event.
Other news:
This past Monday we met with Dr. mark Edwards, our school superintendent, to fulfill some requirements for the Citizen and Scholar Activity Badges.  De. Edwards shared details about his job and took suggestions form the boys about how to improve the school system.  Funny how most of the boys asked for shorter days - and fewer of them!  Future plans for our den include utilizing the services of David Klein as our Den Chief.  We are pleased that David has chosed our den as part of his Boy Scout service project.
