| Welcome to Scouting with Pack 117!!! The information found on this sheet will help you get started in Scouting. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Scout rank you work towards is determined by your grade in school. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 1st grade - Tiger Cubs 2nd grade - Wolf Scout 3rd grade - Bear Scout 4th grade - WeBeLoS Scout (1st year) 5th grade - WeBeLoS Scout(2nd year) 6th grade - 18 years old = Boy Scout |

| Den Meetings - Are held once a week, on Monday evenings, for one hour from 5:30PM to 6:30PM. During Den Meetings the boys work on scout advancement, build art & craft projects, & have game time. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Pack Nights - Are held once each month and work around a theme. For example, October is Halloween Pack Night and January is our Pinewood Derby Race. All parents, brothers, & sisters are invited to Pack Nights. Pack Meetings are (usually) on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Outings & Projects - Include fishing, family camping, Blennerhassett Daycamp, Southwood Pool & Waterslide, Cub Adventure Weekends,and much, much more | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Uniforms - ALL Boys should have a uniform shirt (commonly referred to as Class "A" uniform). It is the way we show off our Scouts advancement. We also have a T-shirt that is worn to many camping and other events (commonly referred as Class "B" uniform). The local Scout supply store is the Boy Scouts of America office located at 1340 Juliana Street, Parkersburg, (304)422-4507. When you buy the shirt, you will also need the white on red numbers "117" (which we sell as 1 piece) & a council patch. We are in the Allohak Council. Finally, the scarves the boys wear are by rank. Orange for Tigers, Yellow for Wolves, Blue for Bears, and Plaid for WeBeLoS. Hats/baseball caps are optional and are available at the scouting office. We do not require scouts pants so all boys usually weare jeans | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Books - Are the MOST IMPORTANT item to have right away. The books help your son fulfill the requirements needed to advance in rank. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Fees - The cost to enroll your Scout each year from January to December is currently $30.00. For any Scout who signs up during the year a partial fee is collected. Many items are included in the registration fee such as Insurance, Derby Cars, Subscription to "Boy's Life" Magizine, Badges/Patches/Pins/Awards, and much more | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
