Persuasive Speech

Good Morning. Four months ago, President Bush signed into law a bill that would effectively render partial birth abortion illegal. But it was immediately frozen by a rogue judge. Be it under influence from “civil rights” unions, or corrupt politicians, our world seems to be blinded by immorality. Today, one of the most prominent issues on people’s minds could be abortion. This is shown by the fact that runaway judges feel that they can block abortion laws passed both Houses of Congress and signed by the President. But a Los Angeles Times Poll shows that 57% of Americans support the most recent ban. So I come to this question: Is abortion moral? Absolutely not. Abortion is immoral because it is murder, it is brutal and there is no reason to kill a baby.

As each day passes, the definition of life seems to grow more vague and less important to our country. Some say that life starts at conception. Others say that it starts at birth. I think that the only reason that some people say that life starts at birth is because they would rather have an abortion. But fortunately for conservatives, a 2003 Fox News Poll shows that 55% of Americans believe that life begins at conception. If the baby is alive from conception, it would be considered to be murder if the baby was aborted. But the question I would like to pose to these people is: If the baby is not alive at conception, then what purpose does the umbilical cord serve during pregnancy? Most people would say that in order for something to be alive, it must require nourishment at the least. Others define life as being aware of one’s existence. Now, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t brain activity start to register at about the sixth to eighth week? Now if that’s the case, then the baby should be aware of something, if only their surroundings. How would you feel today if your parents had decided to kill you?

Now if abortion is not murder, then why, in Scott Peterson’s trial, is he being charged with two counts of murder: one for his wife, and one for his “unborn son?” If people consider it to be the murder of a child when someone kills their wife when she is pregnant, why don’t those same people consider normal abortion to be murder? That is one point which I don’t get. And after I explain what abortion REALLY is, neither will anybody else.

As far as I am concerned, practically nobody understands how bad abortion really is. Abortion, no matter what the kind used, is, next to crucifixion, the most brutal means of execution ever. Since I am unable to bring the actual pictures, I must therefore describe to you the horrors of these procedures.

One common form of abortion is a process whereby a doctor is seemingly preparing for a Cesarean section. But when he cuts into the mother, he is actually cutting much deeper, with the intention to dismember the baby. Limbs are cut off, making the baby bleed to death.

Another type of abortion is even worse. The doctors insert a vacuum tube into the womb and suck the entire baby out, all the while it is screaming. Here I make reference to the film, The Silent Scream, which depicts this. The result is a red mush with pieces of limbs in it.

The final kind I would like to describe to you is more of a late-term procedure. It is similar to the other vacuum abortion, but instead of taking the baby, it takes out the baby’s brain. This must be almost the most excruciating means of death ever. Records show that since 1973, there have been about 45,000,000 children killed by these and other methods of abortion. But the thing is, these procedures should not even be in existence, because there is no reason to kill the child…

There is no excuse that is good enough to provide restitution for an abortion. Some people like to think that just because a person is unwillingly impregnated, they have the right to have an abortion. If this was the case, the victim could still give birth, but put the baby up for adoption. That way, if the mother does not want a child, someone else who does can have them. Also, with the exception of rape, a person should get pregnant with the intention to be pregnant. At least if they have any morals whatsoever.   Now if the birth is going to kill the mother, any loving mother would normally give their own life so that their child will have a chance at life. Who knows? By having an abortion, you might just be killing a future President of the United States. But honestly, I can’t see how anybody could come up with a good reason to have an abortion. In fact, I challenge anybody to come up with one, because there is, for no reason at all, any reason to kill a human. This applies to all mankind, including those who have yet to be born.

So, as I have made plainly evident, abortion is immoral because the baby is alive, it is brutal and there is no reason to kill the baby. For this reason, I, as I hope you will too, support the partial-birth abortion ban that has been blocked by some rogue, liberal judge who has no sense of morality. So remember, abortion is murder.

Thank You,

And may God bless America

I was unable to show the actual images of abortion results, but I can direct you to my web site. On my site, I have all of the resources used in this speech, including a complete transcript and links to the pictures I spoke about earlier. Please visit this site at: www.geocitites.com/cubefan89.
