Hundreds of gay couples file for marriage

Over the weeked, the San Francisco mayor allowed hundreds, if not thousands of gay couples to file for full marriage licenses. Now there is a huge line around the block at the courthouse. But the thing is, he violated state law that says that gay marriage is unlawful. Where does he get off on overwriting his oath of office: "To uphold the laws of the state..."

You know, I don't get it. Of all places, California has a law banning gay marriage, and recognizes Laci Peterson's baby as living. Wouldn't you expect California to be ultra-liberal and embracing these issues?

But I suppose it's good after all. If the most liberal (probably) state in the country has laws against these things, isn't it a good example of what there should be?

Marriage is between a man and a woman, no exceptions at all.
