| In High school I took every art class the school had to offer. I wanted to be a well rounded artist so I took everything and liked everything. My favorite though is painting. I never thought I'd like it but once I started I loved it!!! My senior year i had an art show and showcased my paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, and short stories. I practically filled the whole art gallery! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| This was my first painting. I used acrylic paint, in fact I always use acrylics on canvas. Water colors are fun too but acrylics are my weapon of choice. For the Art Show I titled all of my paintings. I dont remeber what i called this one, probably just MOUNTAINS. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Above was my second attempt at realism, I wasnt happy with this painting. I really got into surrealism because I like weirder stuff. I guess this was in the crossover of styles and so it got the least amount of attention. FIRST SOLUTION---------------------->>>>>>>>>>> This patting was done with blacklight responsive acrylics. It looks really cool both in real light and blacklight. This painting was made based off of the first time i solved the cube. I used only 4 algs and it took forever!!! The idea of using blacklight paint came from a good friend of mine Wes Heine. Wes is extremely talented when it comes to painting and collage. He has amazing talents in both art and music. THREE CHEERS FOR WES!!!! |

| <-- THREE TO INFINITY This was a shocker to all my family and friends. Not because of any artistic talent but of the subject matter. A skeleton sitting back to back with his tombstone. On the stone is a blurry JACOB RUETH. This painting really got people to try and interpret some sort of hidden meaning behing my paintings. One was: "The skeleton, you, is trapped behind a wall of dying realty, in front of you is a tree that grows Rubiks cubes that keeps you busy for all eternity." It sounded good but not quite. Another person screamed when he saw it and read the title, "NO JACOB IS GOING TO DIE IN THREE DAYS!?!?!" That was kinda funny but again not at all the meaning behind the painting. It actually is really funny how some people try and find a deep dark meaning out of every painting, when really the meaning could be really dumb and stupid and non existent. I wont tell you what this painting means to me, email me what you think, and maybe i will let you know :) |

| This next painting is called AXIOM OF ILLUSION. It is a comical attempt at a self portrait but the main focus was geared more at the window my fingers make. Inside is a bunch of lights and a mirror that makes the illusion of a tunel of light that extends behind the painting. A very cool idea and a lot of people enjoyed this peice. I like the three moons. Again the meaning wont be told here. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
