It looks as if Nintendo is about to blaze a path into new territory, a territory that might include the end of Mario and the beginning of free online gaming. Here are a few quotes from Satoru Iwata, Nintendo president.

-Nintendo is not going to join the other console manufacturers in making gamers pay extra for online games.

-Nintendo is investing some of their $6 billion pool towards the development of the successors to the GameCube and Game Boy.

-Nintendo's developers are hard at work, trying to make next generation stars to replace Mario and Pokemo

I don't mind the free online gaming, or replacing Pokemon, but Mario? I mean he's a beast. You can't replace his platformers, or his tennis, kart, golf, or party games. Oh well, out with the old and in with the new.
