| Random Thoughts Here lies before you some video game related and non-video game related materiel. First off, I haven't been updating lately for a few reasons. A) School- It's getting close to the end, so tests and projects are becoming more bountiful and my mind is straying towards thoughts of summer.. B) Hockey- Our whole schedule for this season has been all screwed up because of various holidays and conflicting schedules. C) One of my "friends" has ditched my other friends and me for his girlfriend and track. So another friend and I decided to take action and get him back. You can see what we're doing here. Now onto more video game related material. E3 is upon us, and a dearth of information is flooding out from it's hallowed halls. I will try and keep you updated, but can only do so much. Here is some quick info for you now. Star Wars Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike has been announced. This is the sequel to Rogue Leader, and it looks awesome. You won't be confined to the cockpit of a starfighter anymore, as you can also run around on Hoth as Luke Skywalker blowing up AT-AT's, pilot a speeder bike on the forest moon of Endor, and even visit Geonosis forty years after the battle took place. The latest round of Super Monkey Ball (Super Monkey Ball 3) includes updated graphics, more modes, and LAN play. You can hook up two Cube's via Broadband Adapter and get seven of your best buddies over for some fun. Mario Kart Double Dash!! takes advantage of this LAN connectivity as well. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles marks Square-Enix's first game on a Nintendo platform in ten years, but it looks like they're making up for lost time. It will not be turn based like it's counterparts on the PS2, nor will it have the same movie style camera views. Instead the combat will be real time, and you can play with three other friends as you go questing. This will also utilize GBA connectivity. 1080: Avalanche is scheduled for a September 29 launch date and looks very promising. The game has rockslides, bridge collapses, cave-ins and of course, avalanches. As always there will be a big selection of tricks and the graphics have much improved since last seen. Cel-shaded shooter XIII, based on a French comic book, harnesses the power of the Unreal II engine and stylish presentation to wow the masses. A sixth sense detects oncoming foes, and flashbacks and pop up windows help you discover who you really were before you ended up on a beach with the tatoo XIII on your chest. Sounds weird eh? In Giftpia, young Pockle oversleeps and misses his Coming-of-Age ceremony. This is illegal on his island, and so he is thrown into jail. Not only that, but because he is a minor they also blur out his face! Now he has promised to pay the mayor an insane amount of money to hold another ceremony. You will have to help the islanders to make money, and you can also fish, fix up the town, listen to the radio, play mini-games, do odd jobs, and quests. You must keep Pockle well fed, if you don't he will starve and the game will be over. If you stay out too late, ghosts will come and haunt Pockle until he passes out. Do tasks for the townspeople to gain maturity and the ability to stay out later. That sums a few of the games up nicely, but look for more detailed info in the future. And be sure to take a look at the pics. ->Star Wars Rebel Strike ->Mario Kart Double Dash!! ->Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles ->1080: Avalanche ->XIII ->Giftpia |
