Mario Kart! The latest and greatest in the series is nearly here, so let's take a look at what we'll be seeing in the near future at E3. This time around there will be two racers to a kart, one to drive and one to drop and shoot obstacles and items at the other kart racers. Each character has eight of their own special items, in addition to six regular items. Switching between characters should add some strategy to the game, as well as making it more enjoyable. Apparently there will also be LAN play for up to eight players, but it is very vauge on how that works right now. Anyway, here's a list of the characters lnown so far, but expect a few more surprises. That's right, Pikmin's back too. This time around Olimar's back on his home planet, and he has to get rid of the 10,000 pokos debt his company owes. He'll get some help from his assistant and playable character Loojie. You'll be able to swap between him and Olimar during the game, though details are a little vague at this point. Not only will there be another main character, but so far new colors of Pikmin have been spotted (purple and white), as well as around sixty enemies. Randomly generated dungeons, more items, and two player split-screen play will be available as well. The latter mode will include cooperative play.
