| Graphics-8.2 The graphics are pretty bad compared to other games but graphics don't change the game play (in most cases). The character details in most cases are decent, the wall/ground textures are below average and they look really crappy, the gun details on the other hand are really good! Control-9.0 Don't believe what people say about the controls on how they suck and all, the reason they say that is because they have not realized that your controls can be fully customized. But otherwise the default controls are not too bad, the only down-side is the sniping which can be a pain from time to time. If you are used to the other Gamecube FPS's, this one is really close to it. Gameplay-9.5 Excellent! That is the word that basically describes the game play in this game. This Single Player mode is a lot like the classic Golden Eye game. The AI in this game is stupid from time to time, for example once I shot a guy in his hand and he fell to the ground grabbed it then walked on like nothing ever happened another case is you miss the other guys head and the doesn't see the bullet pass directly in front of him. But in 85% of the cases the AI isn't too bad. The story mode is decent but can get somewhat repetitive, for that is why they made a Arcade League and Challenge mode. In arcade mode you can complete missions to unlock various things like characters, levels, weapons, modes, and more! In Challenge mode you can complete challenges to unlock various new things. Time Splitters 2 also features a Map Making feature. If you are new to the Map Maker you can make a beginner map, which is a single floor arena. If you are experienced you can make a Advanced map which has 7 floors, more objects, and you may also make a single player mission! Multiplayer-9.9 The multiplayer in this game is probably one of the greatest multiplayer games out now for the Gamecube. There are 100 characters which can be awarded by completing Arcade and Challenge missions. There are plenty of modes ranging from deathmatch to Assault to Gladiator most of these modes also can be unlocked in the Arcade and Challenge modes. You and one of your friends can play cooperative story mode together! Another great factor to multiplayer is that up to 16 characters can play at once! There are plenty of guns to choose from like the Luger Pistol, Shotgun, Tommy gun, SBP90 Machine Gun, Minigun, The Brick, the TNT, and a lot more!!! Overall-9.8 This game is a must have for any First Person Shooter or Action game fan. You will spend plenty of time playing this game. Playing the story is a small factor to this 5 star game, you can play tons of modes, play as 100 different characters, create your own Board, or just shoot the crap out of your friends and opponents! Even if you are not a fan of FPS's or Action games this game is still worth the rent. I rented it once now I can't give it back! |
