So much to do! You will never run out of things to do in this game! I swear! It seems like it lasts...forever. Sometimes you will wish to have beaten the game-if you are-this kind of person. However most people will enjoy all the stuff thats open and can be unlocked. The only things I found to be real treats were Extra Charictors, Levels, Trophies, Event matches, and STADIUM! Assuming that the origanle had 1 or 2 flaws...they are now all seemingly fixed.
In Nintendo games generaly graphics and Musical Score dosn't matter. But Nintendo dosn't care. They make us enjoy every high qualitie product they produce! The music comes from the games. The graphics are mind-blowing. Even the trophies have special care put into them with long detailed info on the trophys. Nintendo was not lazy. This game is just pure joy to the adverdge gamer.
Your first baby should be special. Your gamecube deserves the same! BUY SSBM OR ELSE! You will be wrapped up in it for months. Make sure you have a lot of freetime. Well you wont have ANY freetime after this. When you wake up in the morning, your first priority will be to work through and unlock levels or trophies or whatever you are working on.
As innovative as BMX XXX for better or for worse... The game exceeds in all levels that you would expect nintendo to do well in. Lets compare it with other gamecube games. resident evil RE-0-2-3: This game is a party game through and through it spits fireballs and burns resident evils butt back to the drawing board. Sorry Capcom couldn't resist. Monkey ball 1-2: Alright. Fair competition. SSBM is only a little better. Which one to get? YOU HAVE TO GET BOTH!
Charictors- LINK-Link is very fast and packs quit a punch with that sword! MARIO-DR.MARIO-and LUIGI- These charictors all have the same charictorists I think Luigi is the best of the three! Peach and Zelda: The two lead ladys of the game! Samus- WAY overlooked. I didn't relize her full potential until just a little while ago. Bowser-DK-capt. Falcon-Gandorf- These are the stronger but slower charicotrs. Yoshi-Kirby: These two are way overlooked. But hey Nintendo took out my beloved Yoshi attack that took away around 80. :(... Pikachu-Jigglypuff-Mewtwo-Pichu- These are the pokemon. There moves reflect the shows perfectly. Young Link-QUICK!! Can wall jump! Falco-Fox- The dynamic duo swoops in to kick some but in ssbm. game and watch-NESS-Ice Climbers- The odd men out. They are all good but they all take some serious work! It is however worth it in the end!! Marth-Roy- The two well known Fire Emblem charictors that have a cult following!
GRAPHICS- I don't come at a game and Fail it if the graphics suck. The gameplay is what matters. This game excels in so many OTHER areas you won't even care. But the game looks overall well polished and Ninty looks like they know exacly what they are doing. The charictors still maintain their looks from their respective games but they look better and are in 3-D.
CONTROL- After 3 minutes it IS second nature. You will adjust to the fast-paced panicked action that is, SSBM. Enter the obbsesive void of un-rivaled gaming love! This game can become frusterating. Take lethal marathon for example. It is hard to get C.F to jump onto the platforms and the time is way to low. But on melee levels (PUN INTENDED) you can fully control your charictor and know exactly what you are doing.
REPLAY/GAMEPLAY: If I could re-name this game I would name it the never-ending pocket of happiness. You just keep FALLING and falling...in love with it never reaching a bottom point where you tear your disc to shreads! The trophies are execelent. They provide you with fulfilling rewards. It seems like you are alwas trying to get anouther Trophy. Also you can get trophies from games that you save on the same Memory Card, that has the SSBM save. Hopefuly we will see more of this in the future. What the trophies really remind me of though are the Shenmue action figures. YAY! 1-player is great. I play it more than multi. Yes, I do have friends. I just think this game shines just as well as a 1 player game as it does multi. The stadium is fun. Home Run Contest is something new but you might have expected a bit more,eh? You can unlock All Star mode by unlocking G&W. To unlock Game And Watch you have to work your way through 1-player regular with all your charictors then win when challanged. I still remember the joy that the origanle SSB brought me. This game just spoiles the gamer who buys it though!
RENT/BUY/LEAVE ALONE- BUY! No matter what kind of games you are into you will dig the games fast-paced orginized fury on the gamecube! Just anouther great reason to buy a cube.
OVERALL: So far for me it is the cube's best fighter. You will love it. The game is all about varatie. I don't think its possible to hate this game!
PROS:
-never ending replay value
-fun for all ages (even though theres a TEEN rating)
-lots of neat trophies to collect.
-good variety of gameplay modes.
CONS:
-unless you want your game to end there are none...oh wait! Tons of hours in front of the tube!
