Dead Or Alive 3

Platform: Xbox

Dead Or Alive is a classic game but you know at some point you just can't stand to play older games when they've been topped or in this situation, double-topped.  DOA2 was a treat for us a couple years ago but obviously the fans yearned for more.  SEGA seemed very eager to share proffit with its old rival Nintendo and Microsoft fans were worried that we wouldn't get any good sequels or new SEGA games....  Well this isn't a SEGA game but it's a sequel to a Dreamcast game so... yeah.

Anyway, in my reviews you'll find that I'm too cheap to buy many games but will occasionally find other ways to get ahold of material to review.  Well, my friend Matt and I swapped DOA2 and DOA3 since neither of us had played the one we didn't own.  I got DOA3 home and I was astounded... once I adjusted the controls.

The game contains more characters than ever before, deeper plots, longer end cinemas, bigger arenas, flashier moves, and of course... REALLY hott girls without bras... -prays girlfriend doesnt find this review and cut his..... fingers..... off-

I have had this game for a week and every time I go down to play whatever game I feel like playing, I always remember DOA3 is in the Xbox and I just say 'what the hell' and turn it on and play that instead.

Graphics:  This game's visuals are stunning... I can't think of a better word for it than that.  fluid movements, to fantastic FMV sequences, it's so close to perfect for the look it was going for.

Control:  Unfortunately, the game does not stick the the familiar controls of the dreamcast that I was so used to, but of course out of 4 default choices in configuration, the second configuration is the one we all know and loved.  The controls were much more responsive than DOA2's were, and didn't have that overly-sensitive feel I have complained about in the past.

Sound:  Again, I must complain about the Japanese voice-overs, simply for the fact that I just want to see Ayane say something mean in English.  But the music again was well-done and Zack didn't get his unbearably annoying theme.  However I must say, if they make one more game where Jann-lee screams like Bruce Lee I'm going to cut off someone's..............fingers.

Worth:  This game is priced at $30 and for that price you cannot afford not to own it if you're an Xbox gamer.  That's all I have to say about that.  Go... shoo now... go, buy it... you know you want to.
