| Title: Azurik: Rise of Perathia Platform: Xbox Price: 19.99 Well let me start off by saying theres a reason this game is priced so cheaply. Its worth buying if you have lots of extra cash or in my case not worth just giving away if you get it as a gift, but man this is a sad attempt at an RPG. Your character Azurik is some sort of blue guy in training for some sort of honorable blue guy thing, and another blue guy decides to do some crazy stuff and kill your master. Well your master becomes a disembodied voice or maybe youre just crazy and you take up your ultimate weapon i.e. a stick w/ blades on either end, and head off to do battle with evil. Unfortunately this game has many, many problems that take it from being a potential great to a flop and a half. Graphics: Honestly the graphics arent bad. Which is what makes them the only good point of the game. Thats really all there is to say. 9.0 Sound: Decent soundtrack as far as the BGMs go, but the poorly done voices and absolutely horrid sound effects take it some notches down. For some reason you can hear a fwoom as this guy conjurs a fireball, but you hear absolutely nothing as an old blue man hits a wall and lands face-first on the floor. And something tells me when you hit metal to a tree it shouldnt clank. 6.0 Control: The control is fine but the battles are tedious and painful as the rumble is misplaced and you find yourself relying on the same moves over, and over, and over. 7.5 Worth: Azurik my blue friend, your world is expansive and your monsters half-interesting to look like but you would be better suited to just wander around with the smurfs than save the world if this is your best shot at entertaining us. 7.5 |
