Now, a couple notes about cancelled games: 1) You're not under any obligation to make up cancelled games. However, you still may do so. I still tally any scores you report from these games, and any such played games will affect your season stats. 2) I hate to cancel games, but the Park Service is pretty picky when it comes to this subject, so I have to do so on occasion. However, in certain situations, some of the fields are unplayable, but there still may be enough usable room to fit a few fields. As I was driving back from Anacostia today (my Vans caked with stanky-ass Anacostia mud), I came up with the following plan to accommodate for this type of situation: a) Games scheduled for Fields 1 and 2 play on Fields 1-4, locations adjusted at the captains' discretion (see below). b) Games scheduled for Fields 7 and 8 play on Fields 5-8, locations adjusted at the captains' discretion (see below). c) Games scheduled for 3 and 4 play at Candy Cane park in Silver Spring. d) Games scheduled for 5 and 6 play on the Ellipse and Monument grounds. This plan requires a certain amount of discretion to be exercised when setting up fields at Anacostia. For instance, do not set up a field if there is standing water or if the ground squishes under your feet. Also, beware of the grassy areas - they're better rooted, but don't get as much light, and are therefore more prone to stay wet for a longer period. 3) Any decisions regarding cancellations will be recorded on the WAFC hotline. Be sure to call 1-301-LUV-BMAX to be sure a scheduled game is still on as originally planned.
