La Posada (Christmas in Mexico)
Las Posadas (Dec 16-25) In Mexico, children begin to celebrate the holidays with the processions for Las Posadas. This festival commemorates Joseph and Mary's trip to Bethlehem. ("La posada" is Spanish for "the inn.") You can make a pinata using papier mache. When it dries, fill it with treats and try to break it open!
