| I was so bored last night that I decided to watch the news. There was a story on there about a teen who died in a crash, nothing new. But then they launched into the story and told how involved the teen was in his church and youth group. They interviewed the parents, mother decked out in a Mickey Mouse watch and father decked out in a nice white trash mustache. They kept saying shit like "He loved his Lord," "He is in a better place now and we will see him again." Sorry, but no, the actual story is that the kid was a 16 year old who was riding with three other kids in a car on the way to a church meeting. The news said that "he died on impact when he was thrown from the car." So, I started thinking, if God loved him so much, then don't you think that God or at least Jesus (or his parents) would have told him to put his seat belt on while he was in the car so he would not be thrown from the vehicle, I guess not. The parents are coping by saying that he was needed more in heaven than on earth, because I am sure there is so much more for a 16 year old to do in heaven. What the real story is is that there were a bunch of kids in a car and whether they were praying or talking about how to get alcohol that night, they were not paying attention and the driver killed her passenger--no divine intervention, no greater cause, just fucking stupidity and natural selection. I can only pray that the kid was not as lame as the news and his parents made him seem and he at least got laid before he died. -- Citizen D |
