Sorry to all my readers for the recent lack of posts. I am currently in the midst of finals and it has been my own personal hell. So I am posting today and I understand that there are new posts coming from Tempest and from a new contributor who we will call "Rachel" for now. So look forward to those.

This is more of an observation I would like to shar rather than an opinion like usual. I am sure that all of you have been to ethnic cuisine restaurants. Whenever you are in the places, whether they be Mexican, Italian, Morrocan, whatever, they are always playing the music of their region or heritage. I always just thought that this was because it was quaint and cute, and the restauranteers thought it would be appropriate. I never actually thought that anyone listened to this music. Since moving to Kansas City, I have noticed that the Latinos are fans of their music. You go to an Asian place and they are playing Eastern music with sitars and shit, but as soon as your waiter goes and gets into his Eclipse or 3000GT, his stereo kicks out some Spice Girls or something....oh no, not the Latinos, when they get in their minivans or whatever, they roll down the windows and they crank those mariachi tunes and even sing along. I mean, you don't ever see Italians crusing around in thei Firebirds listening to "When The Moon Hits Your Eye Like A Big Pizza Pie" right? This leads to a new conclusion for me. Latinos and Latinas are my new favorite ethic group (sorry Tempest). They keep it real and I appreciate that. But it makes me wonder, what kind of music do they play in "American" restaurants in other countries?....god I hope its not country and western.
